Miracle Miles for Kids is a fundraiser created by the Family Care Network to provide private funding to further support those most in need living in our community. By partnering with us for Miracle Miles for Kids through the generous act of collecting pledges, you are providing foster and high-needs children and families a link to their community; you are communicating to them that their needs are important. You may not be able to personally assist those in need, but through pledging for Miracle Miles for Kids, you have the unique opportunity to be a part of the miracle!

Basic program funding sources are often very limited in scope and do not allow the Family Care Network to fully meet the varying needs of the children, youth and families we serve. Thus, the organization is committed to developing community-based resources to further fulfill our mission.

The Family Care Network is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, private children and families services provider located on the Central Coast. Established in 1987 to provide family-based treatment services, the agency’s programs have grown to serve over 1,300 foster and high-needs children, youth and families annually in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. On February 1, 2006, the agency was formally accredited through the California Alliance of Child and Family Services, being recognized for having met the highest industry standards of excellence as a foster family agency, family-based services provider and mental health services provider. The Family Care Network is the first agency of its kind to earn this high level of accreditation on the Central Coast.

Gabler Family's Story:

The four of us, David, Christy, Ruysser and Braden, participated in this fun run last spring. It was a tough one, but we made it! Ruysser and Christy ran over half of the race. David and Braden walked and jogged along with great friends, the Barber's, who were pushing a double-wide stroller across wet sand.

At the half-way mark, Ruysser looked up at Christy and said, "Thank you, Momma". "What for?" she replied. "For bringing me to this race. It's so beautiful to run here on the beach. This is a lot of fun."

While it was a great experience running together on the beach, the importance of this event to our local community is huge. Participation in this event is inspiring. The energy is electric.

Please join us in our fundraising efforts for this organization.
