Rebecca's Story
Please join me in the fundraising effort for this organization.
I have a good friend at church who takes in teenage foster kids through the Family Care Network. Her current foster child is named Lucy. She is almost 17. I have had the opportunity to get to know Lucy on a winter trip to Yosemite. Lucy attacked her first attempt at ice skating with a vengeance. She is a very
determined young lady. She kept picking herself up and pushing forward. We hiked 4 miles in snow shoes the next day (see picture). She has a great sense of humor as indicated by her commentary during a couple of movies I have watched with her. She laughs readily. I don't know her full story, but I am so impressed by her resilience. I want to do this race for Lucy and the other foster kids I have met who can overcome adversity and experience love and stability because of the work of the Family Care Network.
